Hello!  Still alive under this heat? Me? I am melting! But apparently fat does not melt as fast as I thought it would so I am still alive. Anyway, today I went over to visit a Japanese friend who recently had a baby. I wore this: White scarf - Walmart Black dolman cardigan - Shimamura Neon pink dress - H&M Jeans - Ross Shoes - $9.99 store in Harwin Bag and sunglasses - Daiso Necklace - Gift I recently had a post in my other blog about the little perfect dresses that I so covet. They are easy to style and easy to wear (require no ironing and such). Well, this dress would have been the perfect dress if only it was not in neon pink. I mean, really what was I thinking when I got that thing? I remember that months ago, I was telling to a Mom friend whose daughter was wearing a neon pink dress that I would never dare wear such a thing at my age. We had a good laugh reminiscing all the neon clothes we wore in our teens (neon legg

Fading (Old favorites)

I had a crazy fun week.  Since my kids are out of school, I have to do things to entertain them. My idea of entertainment is to take them to the nearest park or to the pool one day and rest the other. But I always get invited to do something and I find myself out almost every single day. I do not want to complain because back when I was living in the States I so longed to be a social butterfly (lol). But now, there are some days I just want to lie down and do not move.  Anyway, today was not one of those days as I had to go out with the kiddies again. Comfort trumps fashion in my book so I went for old favorites here: Scarf - Jerusalem Halal meat shop Top - Gap Skirt -Gift from Hubby Shoes - $9.99 shoes store in Harwin Accessories - Joa and Sandaga market Yep Just one picture, did not have time for much more The top and skirt are older than my sons. I think they must have each 8 and 6 years of age (or longer). The top was a purchase at Gap Harajuku (now the s

For rainy days

It rains a lot in Japan. In fact it rains enough for rain not be a factor in everyday life. In Japan, even a typhoon would not stop people from going to work or out. Coming from a country where people will not put a feet outside their doors even for slight rain, living in Japan was a bit challenging a first. But I overcame the challenge. Hell, I even became a pro at mastering being covered under the rain by riding my bicycle with one hand while grabbing an umbrella in another. Because it rains so much, Japanese people know how to get ready in case of rain. And some ladies do it in such style, it is hard not to admire them. Here is what they arm themselves with: A Trench: You all know about my love of trench coat. I would die for the perfect one. Apparently in Japan, it is also the article of choice once it rains. Many ladies would adorn one in the beige color. And the brand of choice is Burberry when you can afford it. Trench coat available at Free's mart for less than

Summer Knits, Summer brights

Hi Y'all! Summer is already here, although if you ask my closet, it has been here for the last three weeks at least. The crazy weather brought by Tsuyu (or Japanese raining season) had made the temperatures relatively low. However that did not stop me from wearing my favorite summer outfits plus a little something something to keep me warm. Case in point this outfit I wore for a day at the pool: Scarf - Langkawi night market Knit - Gap Dress - Ross Shoes - Target Bag - Takeshita dori, Harajuku Accessories: Sasha, Charming Charlie The thought of wearing a knit for Summer was always foreign to me because I never lived somewhere that was cool in Summer like Europe. In my country Senegal, Summers are really hot, and do not even get me started on the furnace of Houston and Japan. Therefore I never really needed a  Summer knit. I would just wear a light cardigan to go out particularly when I knew I would be in malls or offices, where the AC is fully on. However, as I
