Flowers today, showers tomorrow

I had a nice time this week end. I had some people over for lunch Sunday and we talked, ate and laughed a lot. I always say that I hate having people over because I am lazy to cook and clean (Cooking the Senegalese way takes forever by the way so you get my point). However I am always happy when they are here and wished they could stay more... Anyway, it is getting hot so now I am pulling out all outfits that are comfy and light like this jumpsuit. Scarf - Jerusalem Halal Meat Tee - Shimamura Jumpsuit - Shimamura Shoes - $9.99 shoe store in Harwin Bag - Daiso 100 Yen store I always forget how comfy this jumpsuit is. It may not be the most flattering but truly when it comes to heat, I could not care less. If I could walk around naked I would. But since I cannot, this thing I am wearing is pretty much close. And I got this tee just last saturday. I realised that I only owned one white tee. I had to go get myself another one because white tee are what I need the most in Summe

Sayonara parties

As the International schools are closing their doors for Summer in Japan, Sayonara (Farewell) parties are booming. Many expats who have stayed in Japan over the past years find themselves leaving for other horizons or to go back home. Yokohama is not left behind and this week only I attended two Sayonara parties for three ladies. Here is what I wore for the 1st party: Fedora hat - Fremantle market Perth Australia Oversize sweater dress - Shimamura Jeans - Ross Shoes - H&M This sweater dress is the comfiest thing I own now. I bought it two days ago. Life was kicking my butt and I needed retail therapy. I went to Shimamura actually looking for cardigans but found this jewel and another similar one in white and blue on sale for 700Yen each. If you know me, you know I cannot resist a good striped top (or dress for that matter). I actually owned a similar top but it was a bit tight and I have been looking all over for a piece that would be big enough. And I could not belei

Another grey in the sky

I wrote this a while back but I am just posting it now! I am enjoying my days in Houston, shopping and eating. Would I like it so much if I was living here? I am not sure. Maybe I enjoy my time better here because I know it will not last. Today, I went out to the Galleria with the kids because I promised them that I would take them to the playground "Little Galleria". Poor kids, I have been dragging them all over town under the heat to shop. They have not complained much but it was time for them to have fun. Here is what I wore: Fedora hat - Freemantle market in Perth, Australia Grey leopard tee - Just in Mint green skirt - G.U. Shoes - H&M As I was walking the streets to the Galleria, a lady jogging payed me compliments on the skirt and asked where I got it. I simply replied Japan and she said "Oh!"  and went her way. I felt like she felt I was being a snob but truth is that I did buy it in Japan. I know some friends back home who respond to tha

Up in the air!

As I am typing this, it is 7:30 AM in Houston. I am still jet lagged from the trip and the hours difference between Japan and Houston but I am getting there. My trip was OK. It started off with my sweet friend Ko dropping me and the kiddies off to Haneda airport, and ended almost 24 hours later with us landing in Houston. I wanted to be comfy yet stylish so here is what I wore: (So sorry! With the trip, I forgot to click a proper picture but here is a snap of what I wore!) Fedora hat - Fremantle market in Perth Australia Beige cardigan - Walmart Striped shirt - H&M Jeans - Ross Red bag - Thrifted (Don Don Down) Pumps - Vincci Malaysia (changed to H&M flats on the flight) I had this fedora hat for ages (since 2004 to be exact) but I rarely wear it. My friend Ko gave me compliments on it. I rarely wear it because it is kinda of big for my head. Actually I only remember to wear it when I take my braids out and my hair is kind of pouffy. The volume helps keep
